Werian Resource Pack 1.8.9
If you’re looking for a resource pack that will completely change the appearance of Minecraft, then Werian is not the pack for you. However, if you are a big fan of standard visuals and simply wish they had a higher bit count and better textures, then you should stick around and keep reading. While doubling the resolution of textures from 16x to 32x, Werian also adds a certain medieval look and feel to Minecraft with darker, worn textures that look like they’ve been beaten on by the weather and broken down to some degree. That makes this pack perfect for all you castle builders out there.
It’s not just stone that looks better with the Werian resource pack installed though. Every wood block, plank, stair, slab and door texture in the game looks significantly better with Werian running, and that’s not counting things like pressure plates, buttons, levers and other objects made from wood, or wood and other materials. You should know, though, that Werian only works on older versions of Minecraft. If you aren’t using 1.7.x or 1.8.x, then this pack isn’t going to do anything for you, and instead it might actually cause your game to crash due to tons of missing textures in newer versions of Minecraft.
Thanks to the sense of realism Werian Resource Pack brings to Minecraft, the resource pack is also great if you want to make haunted house style maps, as well as prisons. The textures are dark and gritty enough that they would perfectly complement a setting where there are ghosts, werewolves, demons and other scary things on the loose, and it works equally well for jails and prisons as mentioned. This is the kind of resource pack that’s perfect for players with large structures they have a great urge to build, at least if you like the medieval style.
