MW3 Resource Pack 1.7.5

Modern Warfare is a highly popular series of first person shooter video games. It’s got gritty action, gunfights and dogs that can take down helicopters. Minecraft might not have any of those things, but with the MW3 texture pack, it’s possible to give the whole game a makeover that leaves it looking crisp, hard and modern. The paintings have all been changed to gratuitous images of MW box art for many different games from the brand. Like other “realism” resource packs which take the cartoony appearance out of Minecraft, the MW3 resource pack leaves the whole world looking darker and more difficult to navigate.

That last part is especially true for caves, where torches are now absolute necessities instead of optional additions if the player just maxes out their brightness setting. Rail, powered rail and sensor rail have all been converted into black asphalt, to make those long rail lines look more like city streets. This is great news for people who would normally spend ages building giant streets out of different colored wools and will save a lot of time for a lot of players. Even the minecarts have been updated to look more like camouflaged jeeps than iron boxes, so the MW3 influence does extend to more than just paintings.

Modifications have been made to many sprites, though the icons for most items look the same, and many environmental blocks like sugar canes, dirt, netherrack and other stuff aren’t changed at all by this resource pack. Diamond armor has been changed to make it resemble the Juggernaut suit worn by the super enemies from the Modern Warfare series. It’s quite fitting, since those guys don’t go down even when shot in the face with a .50 cal round, and diamond armor is the toughest stuff available in Minecraft.
