LIFE HD Resource Pack 1.7.10
The LIFE HD Resource Pack is one of the best looking packs for Minecraft to date. Not only are the regular textures found in basic Minecraft improved upon in many blocks, but some of the enemies are also made to look much better by adding this small patch to your PC Minecraft client. Perhaps the single best change over standard Minecraft is the new obsidian block which is included in the LIFE HD pack.
Everyone who plays Minecraft knows how dark and dull obsidian is, how it seems to pull in the light from around it and keep places dark. This is vastly improved with the LIFE HD pack.
It’s not just obsidian which gets a facelift with this resource pack though. Everything from dirt to dandelions to deserts full of sand all look new and improved once the LIFE HD resource pack is turned on. All the sprites benefit from the HD makeover, but none of them perhaps so much as the cactus. The needles really stick out and give the object a three dimensional look which just doesn’t appear in the flat and blocky standard Minecraft textures. That same sense of style is also applied to grass blocks with great effect.
The LIFE HD resource pack, by Storm Core Films, is actually still a work in progress at the moment. While it’s possible to download and install the resource pack anytime, there are many planned updates and changes which will ultimately give rise to a different resource pack than what currently exists. Improve animations for the flow and movement of both lava and water make the world seem more realistic and less, well, like a game. Don’t be surprised if the hyper realism of the LIFE HD resource pack rekindles your interest in an old favorite game. Sometimes a little makeup can go a long way, after all.
