Golbez22’s Medieval Resource Pack 1.7.5

In a game which is more or less about man making something from nothing, it’s actually kind of surprising when some of the textures look so modern, when they should in fact look more primitive. Golbez22’s Medieval resource pack for Minecraft takes the cartoony and sometimes modern look of many textures in the game and replaces them all with something dark, gritty and in essence, believable. One of the most interesting parts of this pack is that two similar blocks (say iron ore, for instance) can and will have different looks to them, sometimes with six different faces for each side of the block!

That’s actually pretty cool, especially since it stops much of the world from looking exactly the same, like in other resource and texture packs. Ice is actually a reflective surface on this resource pack, which makes buildings and areas featuring ice significantly more interesting with the pack enabled. Not all textures have been updated though; many trees and shrubs still look similar to their original Minecraft appearance. However, thanks to the unique shader element and support for other shader packs, Golbez22’s Medieval resource pack even makes those old textures look like vibrant, new ones, effectively doing away with the issue of redundancy.
